This song is on one of the CD’s I bought last week. It was a 2 -disc compilation of the 20th Annual South African Music Awards Nominees. If you take a listen, I’m sure the reason I like this song will be self explanatory.

Mi Casa: A Taste of South African Pop Culture
I first heard this song at Luzuko Preschool and had it stuck in my head for the rest of the day. Thanks to my new friend Sanele, the head of Inkululeko’s Advisory Board and a student at Rhodes, I was able to track down the artist. After looking Mi Casa up on YouTube and seeing JSomething, my immediate thought was: Wow, he is the South African Justin Timberlake/Robin Thicke. However, I have to give the group credit and not compare them to American artists. Mi Casa is a house band based in Johannesburg (aka “Joburg”). I’ll be taking a trip down to the music store in Grahamstown to find their CD ASAP!
